Mother's Advice on Tonsillectomy

For the love of God. That's all I have to say about the tonsillectomy. Sweet...sweet...Jesus have mercy. I told one of our best friends who is an ENT Dr. that there should seriously be a support group for parents whose children have had their tonsils removed on the same day. Liquor, buy lots of liquor. Make sure Mike is around (for Aden's safety). Andrew is hands down the WORST patient in my house and I was ready to give up. You know how you forget how bad childbirth is? (Which is why you have more) Let's just say that the horror of that experience will never leave me. Never. When they tell you that it will be horrible for 10 full days, they are NOT exaggerating. Oh, and for your information, the day of the surgery is NOT day #1. Oh no, that day doesn't count. I didn't find that out until what I thought was day 9. So then I really was only on day 8. Ya know how when your husband says he'll be home at 5 and when he walks in a half hour late you're ready to rip his testicles off because you were mentally done caring for the crumbsnatching little ankle biters at 4:55 and hung on for dear life for 5 more minutes knowing he would be there to relieve you... Ya, well try adding on another day of living hell with the whiniest, cryingest, little person who three days ago sucked the last drop of sympathy that you could muster up as a good mother only to find out you have to tack on another day. So, no, it wasn't good.

However, on day 11 he was miraculously improved and has since escaped illness that the rest of our family has endured. He also sleeps better, eats better and has gained weight.
Unfortunately, those two sentences completely embrace the pros and the previous 30 sentences don't even come close to embracing the horror. Was it worth it? Yes. Would I do it again? Only if I could hire and in-home nurse to care for them. I'm over it. - Alisha

Don't Destroy Nature!

So, Aden's new love is nature. He really gets upset if I cut back any flowers or dig anything up. He tells me that I should never touch these things because they need to grow old. Mike and I cut back a bunch of trees and Aden took all of these limbs and re planted them. He says he is going to start his own landscaping business and fix all the things that I have destroyed. He says that he is only working until 5:30pm and then he is done for the day! The boy sure knows what he wants!

She already loves shoes !

Savanah is a moven!

Savanah is crawling and into everything! I love this stage!

As much as I am so excited that my children are starting school, yes I know that it is only preschool and kindergarten, but I am somewhat sad. I can't believe how fast the baby years have gone bye and yet when I look back I remember feeling like it was never going to end! These kids rock my life!
